The Louisiana Technology Transfer Office (LTTO), established in 1990, is a main component of the Louisiana Business & Technology Center (LBTC) in Baton Rouge and a technology transfer office at the NASA John C. Stennis Space Center in Mississippi with a presence there for over 27 years. The LTTO is designated by the Governor’s Office as the official entity for support and to administer the SBIR-STTR Program in Louisiana. LTTO assists small technology-oriented businesses, university faculty, entrepreneurs, and others with identifying/preparing/competing for federal R&D grants. LTTO also assists LA-based small businesses with procurement opportunities at Stennis Space Center and the NASA Michoud Assembly Facility in New Orleans.

This program provides a 25 percent tax credit on investments by accredited investors who contribute to businesses certified by LED as Louisiana Entrepreneurial Businesses. Investors can invest $720,000 per business per year and $1.44 million per business over the life of the program.

Louisiana Small Business Development Center at University of Louisiana Monroe
The Louisiana Small Business Development Center offers high-quality technical assistance to existing and start-up small businesses, and to small business entrepreneurs in Louisiana at no cost to the client. The Small Business Development Center Network is the largest provider of management and technical assistance for small businesses in the United States, and the LSBDC is a member of that network. The LSBDC is funded in part through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. SBA, LED, and participating institutions of higher education. The LSBDC was established in 1983 and is located strategically to service all 64 parishes in Louisiana. With seven regional centers throughout the state, the LSBDC offers an array of specialized consulting services including growth acceleration, international trade, government contracting, and emergency preparedness. The LSBDC at the University of Louisiana at Monroe currently serves 15 parishes, to include Caldwell, Catahoula, Concordia, East Carroll, Franklin, Jackson, LaSalle, Lincoln, Madison, Morehouse, Ouachita, Richland, Tensas, Union, and West Carroll Parishes.
