Statewide Resources

Did you know that your local library branch can provide invaluable assistance to your business? By just signing up for a library card, you gain access to a wealth of tools to support you in starting, planning, or even growing your business, including nearly 30 state-wide databases, and many more available to your parish. Some of the resources available in the Statewide Database Collection include the following:

  • Small Business Reference Center– Provides up-to-date information from EBSCO on relevant topics for starting a company, operations management and sales, to growing or rescuing a business.
  • Business Searching Interface- A great way to perform market research on economic data, business research, and industry-specific demographic information.
  • DigitalLearn.org- This tool provides basic instructions on computers, email, social media, and more!
  • EBSCOHost- This database provides full texts, and access to many more research databases including eBook Collection, Vocational and Career Collection, as well as MEDLINE.
  • Gale Legal Forms: Louisiana- Provides official state-specific, federal, business, personal, real estate, and general forms covering hundreds of legal subjects and issues.
  • HomeworkLouisiana- An online reference tool to assist with homework help and tutoring, grades K through College. Includes a live online tutor, a skills builder, a writing and career center, and an Adult Education Center.
  • Learning Express Library- A comprehensive, interactive learning platform of tests, courses, and career preparation for students and adults. Includes resources for Career Preparation, College Admissions Test Preparation, a High School Equivalency Center, and a School Center.
  • Louisiana Public Documents Digital Archive- Collection of over 20,000 Louisiana digital public documents, most dating back since 2002.
